This guide is meant to provide you with the information you need to get started.
Overview
For this project you will start with an uncaptioned, inaccessible USU YouTube video and turn it into an inclusive, captioned video. We will then publish your captions so that they are available for anyone to use.

(Used by Project Manager) Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Premiere Pro is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud package. If you don’t already have a license, you will need to request one from IT.
Getting Started
Review the USU Caption Guidelines .
Take some time to become familiar with our Caption Guidelines. This will teach you the principles behind writing good captions. Consistency and accuracy is important in this work.
If needed, there are some additional resources you can refer to as needed, such as the DCMP Standards or this DCMP Closed Captioning Standards overview video .
: You will be using a tool called Amara to write captions. This video provides a good overview of the tool and how to use it.
Amara Captions Monday Board : Go to the Monday board and assign yourself to a video in the “Caption Editor” column.
Follow the steps in the Amara Captions - Doing the Work page to caption the video.
